Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a showroom or store I can visit?
Yes we do! It is located in Pasadena, CA, adjacent to Bungalow Heaven. Our shop is a wonderful combination of an old style neighborhood hardware store with everything from milk paints to hammers, and a full line decorative hardware supply showroom. It is absolutely worth a visit. Our store is open from 7 A.M. to 6 P.M. Monday through Saturday and 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday. All times are Pacific. We look forward to seeing you!

I don’t live in Southern California. Where else can I see your products in person?
The catalog you hold in your hand, along with our web site, is our only true showroom outside of our shop. However, we do travel quite a bit and show our products at many trade shows and old house fairs. If you would like to know if we will be near you soon, please click here.

Do you do custom work?
Yes, we do. We do everything from simple custom refinishing and key work to full blown reproductions from your antique originals. Please contact our catalog department for details and to obtain assistance with your needs.

I don’t see what I’m looking for on this site or in your catalog. Can you help me?
Probably. As extensive as this catalog and our web site are, they represent but a fraction of our complete hardware line. Between the 250-plus suppliers we work with and our rapidly expanding antique collection, it is quite possible we have just what you need. Your best bet is to send us a digital photo of your piece. Send your inquires to questions@restoration.com.

I've lost my order form.

Will your hardware work on my existing lock or latch?
Unfortunately, there were very few standards used by early hardware manufacturers, so it is impossible to say. We have designed all our hardware to be compatible with the widely available Baldwin brand locks and latches, and have found our hardware to be compatible with many older locks as well. The only way to know for sure is to take detailed measurements of your lock or latch, and compare them with the information provided on our web site or in our price list. If you are unsure, please feel free to contact us directly for assistance.
